Obtaining Trajectories Using Strapdown INS/KF Framework: Methodological Proposal

Get PDF
The state-of-the-art of positioning systems has proven that complex sensor networks and artificial vision are required to accurately locate moving objects in autonomous navigation applications. This document presents the methodology for tracking position of moving objects using Kalman Filter Inertial Navigation Systems (INS/KF), integrating the Zero Velocity Update and Zero Angle Rate Update algorithms. The main contribution of this document is the methodological proposal in the integration of the INSKF-ZUPT/ZARUT o IKZ to the INS Strapdown feedback, providing restrictive properties to the displacement errors, significantly improving the trajectory, with a greater definition to the movement that was exposed the object. The proposed IKZ was tested with raw data from an IMU MPU-9255 in order to analyze the different results between static tests and linear movements on the X, Y and Z axes

Analysis of jitter influence in fast frequency measurements

Get PDF
This paper presents a theoretical analysis of possible jitter impact in application of numeric criterion for fastmeasurement of frequency by coincidence principle. The primary goal is the generation of a signal containing a known amount of each jitter components. This signal was used for testing signals with regular pulse trains. Initially, jitter components are analyzed and modeled individually. Next, sequences for combining different kinds of jitter are modeled, simulated and evaluated. Jitter model simulation in Matlab is utilized to show the independence of frequencymeasurement results on the total jitter present in the reference and desired pulse trains independently. A good agreement between previously introduced theory of fastmeasurement of frequency and simulation in jitter presence is verified; these results allows to engineers use the numeric criterion for fastmeasurement of frequency in spite to interactions among jitter components in various applications for frequency domain sensors

Structural Health Monitoring - Measurement Methods and Practical Applications

No full text
Structural health monitoring (SHM) is a new engineering field with a growing tendency, based on technology development focused on data acquisition and analysis, to prevent possible damage in man-made structures and land's natural faults. The data are obtained from sensors and monitoring systems that allow detecting damages on structures, space vehicles, and land natural faults, to model their behavior under adverse scenarios, in order to search the detection of anomalies. Currently, there are many SHM systems with sensors based on different technologies like optical fiber, video cameras, optical scanners, wireless networks, and piezoelectric transducers, among others. In this context, the present book includes selected chapters with theoretical models and applications, to preserve infrastructure and prevent loss of human lives

Edoxaban for the Long-Term Therapy of Venous Thromboembolism: Should the Criteria for Dose Reduction be Revised?

No full text
Edoxaban is used for venous thromboembolism (VTE) treatment. Real-life data are lacking about its use in long-term therapy. We aimed to assess the efficacy and the safety of edoxaban for long-term VTE treatment in a real-life setting. Patients with VTE included in the Registro Informatizado Enfermedad TromboEmb\uf3lica (RIETE) registry, receiving edoxaban 60 or 30 mg daily were prospectively followed up to validate the benefit of using different dosages. The main outcome was the composite of VTE recurrences or major bleeding in patients with or without criteria for dose reduction. Multivariable analysis to identify predictors for the composite outcome was performed. From October 2015 to November 2019, 562 patients received edoxaban for long-term therapy. Most (94%) of the 416 patients not meeting criteria for dose reduction received 60 mg daily, and 92 patients meeting criteria (63%) received 30 mg daily. During treatment, two patients developed recurrent VTE, six had major bleeding and nine died (2 from fatal bleeding). Among patients not meeting criteria for dose reduction, those receiving 30 mg daily had a higher rate of the composite event (hazard ratio (HR) 8.37; 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.12–42.4) and a significant higher mortality rate (HR 31.1; 95% CI 4.63–262) than those receiving 60 mg. Among patients meeting criteria for dose reduction, those receiving 60 mg daily had no events, and a nonsignificantly higher mortality rate (HR 5.04; 95% CI 0.54–133) than those receiving 30 mg daily. In conclusion, edoxaban seems to be effective and safe for long-term VTE treatment in real life. Criteria for dose reduction should be reformulated
